Meet the Team that Transforms Dirt into the Special Haven We All Call Home

When building the home you’ve always envisioned, having the right team by your side is crucial. Transparency, empathy and trust are just a few of the qualities our team knows best, so it’s about time we get to introduce them to the world! Without further ado, let’s meet our JayMarc Custom Homes team!

Brenda Gage

VP of Custom Homes

What are you looking forward to most in JayMarc’s future?

“I am so grateful to JayMarc both personally and professionally. While the for sale side of the business has been up and running for years, I am looking forward to the custom side of the business really rocking and rolling. The systems and processes we have painstakingly been working on for years are finally paying off and our clients are happier than ever. Plus I really love our team. The JayMarc family is truly a home away from home for me.”

What’s one industry secret you can indulge us with?

“There has truly never been a better time to build a custom home. The price of new construction is skyrocketing. We just had a family build a custom home in Bellevue for $3.5M and we sold a similar home two blocks away for $4.6M! No matter what you hear on the news about fluctuating lumber prices and increases in the cost to build, our clients are moving into their home with a tremendous amount of instant equity. It’s amazing!”

Pre-Construction Project Coordinator

What do you love most about working at JayMarc?

“The design process, learning new things, and the JM crew. Really good people.”

If you have one piece of advice for someone looking to build their custom home or buy, what would it be?

“Stay loose, feel confident with your builder and trust your builder. It is like putting together a puzzle and therefore to enjoy it, one has to remain loose with pieces of the process that take finessing, realize there are some uncontrollables, compromise when needed, and enjoy the really exciting decisions, development, and details along the way.”

Custom Purchasing Manager

What is the most treasured thing (person, item, hobby) in your life and why?

“Family (my immediate family and my girlfriend) as I would not be the person that I am today without them in my life.”

What’s one industry secret you can indulge us with?

“Things are constantly changing in the construction industry and we deal with issues and adversity on the daily. Once I took this to heart and started accepting that some things were out of my control and to really focus on what I could control and change, it made everything much more enjoyable.”

Mandi Highland

Custom Homes Assistant

What do you love most about working at JayMarc?

“I love that JayMarc is truly family-oriented! I've worked for many companies that claim to be family first, but when it comes down to it, family really didn't matter to them at all. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to be able to work remotely and stay connected with my peers and clients professionally.”

What is the most treasured thing (person, item, hobby) in your life and why?

“Family is and always will be the most treasured thing to me. I've built my life around having and raising my family and creating traditions and memories with our loved ones as often as possible.”

Shauna Brown

Senior Custom Interior Designer

What’s one industry secret you can indulge us with?

“Lighting is said to be "the jewelry of the home”, as it can make the biggest impact in a space, not just aesthetically, but functionally as well. Whether you are creating a dimly lit moody space, or one that is bright and energizing, lighting can transform a room by adding color, texture, and dimension -  illuminating all of the most impressive areas.”

“When selecting lighting for a home, consider all elements - scale + placement of fixtures, and brightness, intensity + color of lights, locations that will have dimmer and/or smart switches, or accent LED lighting at shelves and/or tray ceilings. For clients that want to take it a step further, I would recommend working with a lighting designer to incorporate an architectural lighting plan.”

What are you looking forward to most in JayMarc’s future?

“The JayMarc Custom Team has a lot of really cool projects coming up this summer. It will be exciting to walk along with our clients as they see their home come to life and the selections we made get installed!”

What’s one industry secret you can indulge us with?

“Name brand products or vendors don’t necessarily mean higher quality or better service – pay attention to reviews and repeat customers.”

What is the most treasured thing (person, item, hobby) in your life and why?

“Spending time with my family because time diminishes so quickly.”
