Adventure Playground 2018

Adventure Playground is a one of a kind play area that allows kids to create their own play adventure. Nestled in the wooded forest of Deane’s Children’s Park, children are provided toolboxes, various building supplies, safety items and the freedom to create build-it-yourself play zones with the guidance of Staff. It is a wonderful experience for children to use their imagination and works with others to create a one-of-a-kind tree fort.

JayMarc Homes and Mercer Island Parks and Recreation are excited to be partnering with the local organization YouthBuild. In 2010, YouthCare established a YouthBuild program, an evidence-based affiliate of a national model with over 260 programs across the county. Throughout their six months in the program, participants ages 16-24 earn a high school diploma or equivalent, gain skills needed to join the workforce, and give back to the community by building affordable housing. Approximately 40 students graduate each year with six industry certifications and 38 college credits.

Admission to Adventure Playground is free, but we encourage participants to donate to YouthCare at (d0n’t forget to leave a little note!) or help support the playground be donating building supplies such as lumber, nails, tools and rope. To learn more about donating supplies, contact C.J. Stanford at
