Architectural Design & Draftsperson

You love Architectural design & drafting and working with clients to develop their dream home. You will handle all aspects of the plan development process according to JayMarc Homes’ quality standards, responsible for developing working drawings that reflect the desired outcome of the company or the client. You are accurate, efficient, and concise so that the end user can perform their task in the same manner. JayMarc’s goal is to provide a homebuilding experience for our homeowners where they can truly realize the “Love Where You Live” motto.  Just as important, JayMarc seeks to provide an environment where you would truly “Love Where you Work!” 

A SNAPSHOT OF THIS POSITION INCLUDES…

  • Meet with Custom Home clients to understand their hopes, dreams & wishes and then prepare a plan that will meet their needs.
  • Assist with the preparation of all necessary documents for the submittal & permit of a home.
  • Create all necessary details into the plans.
  • Modify the revisions for all plan portfolio information and specifications in accordance with established procedures and communicate all changes to all affected end users.
  • Finalize all approved revisions within established time frames.
  • Complete non-standard options within established time frames.
  • Conduct regularly scheduled field observations.
  • Work closely with JayMarc Homes Project Managers.
  • Fully support Architecture, Field Managers, Estimating, Purchasing & Accounting.
  • Draft all municipality comments, and ensure any required changes are made to working drawings within the established time frame.
  • Practice Servant Leadership with all clients and team members.

SKILLS WE WANT YOU TO HAVE...

  • Local, applicable development & building codes.
  • Proficiency with the Washington State Energy Code.
  • Technical knowledge (Design / Construction / Land / Utilities).
  • Maintain proficiency in AutoCAD, ACA 2021 software and drafting standards.
  • Knowledge of all scopes of work, contracts, and plan sets.
  • Technical Degree in AutoCad / Design Development & Drafting with 5 years of experience in residential construction.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the structural elements of homebuilding, product installation means & methods.
  • Participate in lot fit studies and coordinate with all affected departments.
  • Knowledge of systems like Office 365, Smartsheet and Dropbox.

Entitlement and Permit Specialist

The primary role of this position is to prepare complete permit application packages for each customer and to administer the applications through to approval. This position also entails being a partner during the home design process by providing site and zoning information to the customer and architect.

This position is where it all starts and is critical in determining whether our custom clients can realize their dreams of building a particular home on a particular piece of property. You will be expected to prepare site plans and supplemental information required by the permitting process as well as coordinating and assembling the work required from arborists, civil engineers, and surveyors. 

You will be asked to participate with other JayMarc staff members in early “feasibility” looks at sites and expectations brought to us by potential clients. This will set the stage for your involvement with the team through the design process. Our goal is to provide a homebuilding experience for our homeowners where they can truly realize the “Love Where You Live” motto.  Just as important, JayMarc seeks to provide an environment where employees truly “Love Where They Work!” 

A SNAPSHOT OF THIS POSITION INCLUDES…

  • Attend weekly meetings with the custom project management team. 
  • Preparation of site feasibility analysis including but not limited to research of zoning, site planning, utility availability, site development issues.
  • Coordination with jurisdiction, engineers, customers, and project managers in creating the site plan.
  • Creation, submittal, and management of all permits necessary for site development and the build of the home.
  • Ability to interpret architectural plans for use on a particular piece of property.

  • Working knowledge of applicable land use & building codes within the Puget Sound region.
  • Desired expertise in AutoCAD and site plan preparation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Smartsheet in addition to AutoCAD.
  • 5 plus years’ experience in drafting and permit related activities preferred.
