HOW TO CLEAN THE BATHROOM AND KEEP IT FRESH ALL YEAR LONG

The bathroom seems like an easy task to take care of. We all need one and it only takes minutes a day, right? Wrong! Most people think it just magically stays tidy on its own and doesn’t need any maintenance. After all, bathrooms encounter more soap and water than any other room in the house.

The bathroom is an important part of the home. It can make or break your first impression. So, in today’s guide, we’re going to share with you some helpful tips and advice on how to keep your bathroom squeaky clean all year long.

Keeping the Bathroom Clean – Check the Caulk and Grout Condition

Checking the quality of caulk and grout around your tub or shower is one of the most overlooked areas of bathroom maintenance. Water won’t get behind tile and vinyl if caulk and grout are used. Water that gets past these seals can lead to mold growth and compromise the general integrity of your bathroom. Depending on its condition, caulk should be evaluated if not replaced every year. If your bathroom is in desperate need of new caulk or grout, you might consider contacting your contractor.

Clean the shower door or curtain

Scrub your shower door or curtain with an abrasive cleaner if you spot scum or mold forming, especially near the bottom and in any corners or folds. When not in use, keep your shower curtain closed to keep your shower curtain liners cleaner for longer. When you exit the shower and draw the curtain to the side, moisture will collect between the folds, creating a breeding ground for bacteria!

The caulk around the shower door tends to wear out faster because it receives the most use. When inspecting the state of your shower’s caulk, pay special attention to this area.

Cleaning your shower curtain or shower door once a month can help prevent mold from growing to the point where it needs to be replaced.

Clean bathroom fixtures

Mold and filth will build up in any spot where water flows out of or goes into. Your shower head, shower drain, sink faucet, sink drain, and, if you have one, your floor drain all fall into this category.

Hard water is the type of water that comes out of your faucets and shower heads. It has dissolved minerals in it, the most prevalent of which are calcium and magnesium bicarbonate. The bicarbonate remains when the water evaporates, forming a chalky white material. Limescale is a typical term for this.

Limescale not only looks ugly, but it can also reduce your water pressure. Fixtures with limescale buildup can be cleaned by soaking them in vinegar for several hours. You can either put a bag packed with vinegar around your shower head or remove it yourself. Once a month, do this to prevent substantial limescale buildup.

How to Keep a Bathroom Clean? – Easy! Inspect your cabinets.

Random items can quickly accumulate in your drawers and cabinets. Once a month, go over everything to keep track of what you have and make it easy to find. Cleaning the surfaces of your cabinets, drawers, and mirrors is also a smart idea currently. The amount of grime that accumulates over time might flabbergast you.

Clean common surfaces

Scrubbing the floor, toilet, tub, and shower is the most time-consuming part of bathroom cleaning. This phase, however, will be much easier if you follow the preceding steps in the checklist attached! Because most bathrooms are too tiny for a large mop, cleaning the usual surfaces with a rag and spray bottle may be the best alternative. This also aids in the prevention of disease brought on by the spread of bacteria that can form in these locations.
