Obliteride 2018 – Ending Cancer Starts at Fred Hutch
I ride for ____________. Many of us have names that can fill in this blank whether they are family, friends, co-workers or acquaintances. Fred Hutch hosts the annual Obliteride event, where companies, family, friends and individuals ride 50 to 100 miles around the Greater Seattle area in support of cancer research. Obliteride funds research in the areas of greatest need at Fred Hutch. From Basic Sciences and Public Health to deep exploration into organ-specific cancers and immunotherapy, Fred Hutch has funded over $12 million in research over the past five years. You can view Obliteride Funding in Action here.
It was a joy and honor for JayMarc to be able to volunteer this year at the 2018 Obliteride. Our team cheered on the riders as they arrived at our co-sponsored rest stop to enjoy DJ beats by JayMarc’s own Marc Rousso and to refuel with food and water prepared by Obliteride volunteers.
The 2018 Obliteride event has raised $2,200,430.45 and counting! We are so proud of all the riders who participated. Here’s to continuing the support for the fight against cancer!

About Fred Hutch: Interdisciplinary teams of world-renowned scientists and humanitarians work together to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer, HIV/AIDS and other diseases. Fred Hutch researchers, including three Nobel laureates, bring a relentless pursuit of, and passion for, health knowledge and hope to their work and the world. Together, researchers are discovering new ways to detect cancers earlier, when cure rates are highest; developing effective treatments with fewer side effects; and learning how to prevent cancers from growing in the first place.
