Join us this season is supporting the Seattle organization, YouthCare! YouthCare builds confidence and self-sufficiency for homeless youth by providing a continuum of care that includes outreach, basic services, emergency shelter, housing, counseling, education, and employment training. This Summer we teamed up with their YouthBuild program at Mercer Island’s Adventure Playground and mentored a few individuals at our own homesites. YouthBuild has trained over 100,000 young people and built over 20,000 units of affordable housing. 30 young people a year bring their newly acquired construction skills to work on low-income housing at one of Habitat for Humanity’s local projects. When they are not on-site, they’re in the classroom working in their GED or high school diploma.
The winter months can be tough and brutal for many of Seattle’s homeless youth. Help support the YouthCare program by purchasing winter necessities these individuals need in order to keep safe and warm. Here is a link to their Amazon Wishlist.
Thank you for supporting YouthCare!
